humility is a key characteristic of anyone's personality, especially for business leaders. the best leaders, even when receiving deserved honors and tributes, will always direct the praise away from themselves and onto the larger corporate goal. they achieve superb results but shun personal adulation. they edify their teams, without boasting. in fact, their modesty draws adulation from the team, and creates a culture of achieving success with humility. as lao tzu said: "when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, his troops will feel they did it themselves." leaders, being self-effacing, shun publicity (which egomaniacs crave).
